What is the Da Vinci glow?   When the sun sets on the crescent moon it gets dark, but other areas on the surface of
the moon begin to illuminate revealing a wonderful phenomenon called earthshine or the ashen glow.  Da Vinci
basically had the idea right. He wondered why during the crescent moon, the dark side became illuminated.

He figured out the riddle but was wrong about two things in his discovery. One, the moon has to oceans. The
second, He thought the oceans on earth gave the reflectivity power to illumintaes the other side of the moon when in
fact, recent discoveries have shown that the clouds are more reflective than the oceans. He had the right idea
hundreds of years ago.
